In today’s highly competitive era, the pressure to get admissions into prestigious schools, junior colleges, or later into medical, engineering, law, and management colleges has increased tremendously. Due to this pressure, parents often rush to enroll their children in coaching centers immediately after Class 10, believing that coaching guarantees success. But the question is—are these coaching centers truly educating your child, or are they simply turning students into “fee machines”?

Across the country, thousands of coaching centers promise “Top ranks,” “Guarantee selection,” and “Sure-shot success.” Behind these slogans, however, lies a market driven by profits, not education. Parents, often unaware and anxious, fall for attractive banners, celebrity faculty photos, and high-fee packages. And the biggest victims of this system are students who get stuck in the cycle of batch promotions, pre-designed modules, and over-crowded classes.

The illusions created by coaching centers

To attract parents, many coaching centers display photos of toppers—sometimes students who studied elsewhere or only attended short-term sessions. The reality is that these centers often take credit for the hard work of students who succeed independently.

Some centers also advertise special batches such as Topper Batch, Ranker Batch, Advance Batch, or Crash Batch. Parents pay high fees believing their child will receive personal guidance. But in reality, hundreds of students are placed in the same classroom, taught with the same notes, the same lecture style, and the same pace. Personal attention is almost nonexistent.

Parents often believe that coaching is the only way to success, but they forget the emotional impact. Long hours of classes, extra assignments, weekend tests, and pressure to perform create stress, anxiety, and burnout in teenagers.
